Moving Advice - How to Stay Motivated for a Move
Published on Saturday, 07 May 2011
Motivation is an important aspect of a successful move. But when you start to actually pack, the mere sight of the items you have to work on can be overwhelming. Even if you have hired movers for the packing, the sorting, cleaning, unpacking and arranging can still be a nightmare. So, what should you do to stay driven and get moving?
1. Sort Out
Not many people are aware of how much they actually own until they start to pack. Decide which things you really need, want to keep and dump. Yes, you have to be ruthless if you want to reduce the amount of time spent on packing.
2. Set a schedule
You can't finish packing in one day - that's a fact. If you are a busy person, spare at least an hour each day for packing. By doing so, not only are you able to include it in your daily routine, but finish the job before you know it!
3. It's all about balance
Your last few weeks at home should not be spent on moving tasks alone. Remember to find balance in your daily routine so you don't feel overworked. Even if you have to follow a packing schedule, spare some time for relaxation to keep yourself energized and motivated.
